History
Stibo Graphic is part of the Stibo Group which was established in 1794 under the name “Aarhuus Stiftsbogtrykkerie”. The Group has developed from a traditional printing house to a modern international company with expertise within the graphical processes. Back in 1794, the company primarily printed scriptures for the Church and the King, but also published the local newspaper. However, in 1927 the company sold the newspaper “Århus Stiftstidende”.
In the 1960s, the ownership of the company was transferred to a foundation (Stibo-Fonden) which currently owns 100 per cent of the company shares.
Through close partnerships with a number of customers during the 1970s, the Group was transformed from being a traditional printing house to a communications enterprise with activities within both software and printing. One of the significant milestones during this period was the acquisition of the software company CCI.
Up through the 1980s and 1990s, the Group primarily focused on printing and software systems for large publishers of catalogues, telephone directories, periodicals/magazines and newspapers. Furthermore, the Group increased investments in its heatset facility in Horsens in Jutland.
In 2002, the Group structure was changed, and the Group changed its name to Stibo A/S. The group operates on a global level through subsidiaries in Europe, North America and the Far East and has approx. 650 employees.
