EMAS

EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is the EU's environmental management scheme, which is voluntary and intended for use by all types of businesses. In order to become EMAS-registered, an enterprise must comply with the ISO 14001 requirements, but furthermore, it must also map and act on the indirect environmental impacts of its products and services.

According to the Danish Environmental Agency, EMAS is the most ambitious environmental management scheme for the certification of corporate environmental management systems and thus represents the ultimate rubber-stamping of the environmental efforts of an enterprise.

Stibo Graphic's heatset facility was EMAS-certified for the first time in 2003.
